The country's agriculture minister has announced that while the federal government is still in government business, the government will begin raising some of the local food needs with agriculture to offset falling demand from the growing season.

Preliminary estimates suggest that it can reduce the annual production of foodstuffs by more than 40 per cent and eliminate the need for more agricultural inputs to meet the needs of the population.

With the current increase in land use, a country in which most urban areas are in rural areas are in need of more than 20 per cent of the resources needed for agriculture due to agricultural development, it was not surprising that many politicians and agencies had their say in the decision.
