This is where I found out about "the plant, known as Rhea." That plant has some pretty amazing pictures floating around all over campus, from my travels to my work here. Some are really interesting: We caught a glimpse of a tall, green, pale, slightly white, white-eyed white butterfly in front of us, and we wondered what that looks like outside our window if you were to turn on a light, so we called the police. On that campus in New Haven, CT, we did our most thorough search by getting pictures of the plant. We've seen it more than once before—we spotted the little blue fly. It grew as a fly, but not as much as a butterfly. So it was easy to know this thing is going to be alive and well. The plants were beautiful and different from every other species I've visited here in recent years, so I felt a little guilty for not having seen one before.

Rhea, the white, white-eyed ladybug, is just one of several insects on campus. It is a large, yellow, red-footed fly. It has a big, long, hairy black head that looks similar to a hunk of beef. It can fly like a hiker or swim out of water like a water boater. It does all sorts of interesting things. It can crawl and climb
