In 2010, when the US Navy conducted its longest-ever manned manned flight, there was a high correlation between the release of nitrogen and oxygen that led to human deaths. That caused concern in the global aviation community, given the increased levels of ammonia and nitrous oxide from aircraft. This was a consequence of an increase in atmospheric pressure (called "the 'bubble effect') and the atmospheric gases (such as nitrogen and oxygen) are the greenhouse gas responsible for killing about 3% of the world's population.

Researchers began to consider the potential health risks of releasing nitrogen and related particles into the atmosphere (mostly in the form of nitrogen and oxygen), then took action to reduce pollution and prevent deaths. Environmental research and design guidelines were followed to remove this nitrogen from the air in large areas of the world in response to increased pollution from air pollutants. However, there were no such interventions to reduce nitrogen intake until the 1960s and 1980s.

Today, nitrogen fixation is considered an important step and a major pollutant. The goal of increasing emissions for the human health is to increase nitrogen concentrations in the atmosphere. There are two primary sources of pollution from nitrogen fixation activities.

The first is that there is an increasing tendency among people living near or in areas containing nitrogen. The rise in particulate matter (i.e., nitrogen Oxidation by Air (NOAA), a term used in the US EPA
